Suhrid

Suhrid is a cherubic 18-year old non-verbal autistic teen with co-occurring epilepsy. He has an intense interest in Art and is training to become a professional artist in abstract expressionism. His creations in Abex are rated as meritorious. Suhrid studies in Vasant Valley School where the major highlights of his IEP (Individualized Education Plan) are in the domain of art. Suhrid is a visual learner. Since the age of 2, colours and textures were his sensory fixations, this blossomed with time into a definitive skill. Suhrid loves to paint with acrylics and water colours on Canvases and Grana Fina paper. He paints for several hours each week with golden era hindi movie songs playing in the background. He wields the brush with felicity and prefers flat brushes to round ones.

He likes to work with an array of brushes, rollers, sponge and his workplace has a liberal spread of easels and colour. He has heightened sensitivity for textures and colours and usually chooses a bright palette of colours for his works. He has participated in exhibitions, where collectors have appreciated his art by buying his paintings.  In furtherance of his education in art, he is also coached through private tuitions by a commercial artist. Suhrid loves nature, it is his great comfort zone, companion. He can spend hours gazing at the leaves twirling in the breeze or birds flying in the sky. 

A loveable teenager with big smiles, Suhrid is widely known by his pet name Chintu.
